A rammer is a machine that compacts the ground.

This is accomplished differently than a plate compactor.

Unlike a compactor, which utilizes vibrations to settle the dirt underneath, a rammer compresses the earth using impact force.

Rammers, alternatively called tampers, are typically used in the construction sector to compact soil or earth.

They are portable and easy to use.
